so, being largely french and irish, I'm the kind of girl who needs to tweeze her eyebrows. If I want to have two of them, anyway.
I recently decided to go even beyond that, and try waxing my upper lip. Everyone has certain levels of hair, but when you're pale and that hair is dark, it doesn't work out so well.
So I bought myself a little waxing kit that even had a pain killer cream in it to apply before waxing.
Currently, my upper lip is numb, swollen to a ludicrous level, and bleeding.
But it worked (mostly).
You know what that translates to?
I'll do it again as soon as I need to.
Damn girliness.

try, face lotion on the area after yer daily cleanser..and lip balm
the night before. especially.
someone once had the "brilliant" idea of tweezing his whole lower face to get rid of beard growth forever
..lets jast say *while madness prevailed* it involved lotsa gritty moments and weirdly embarrassing requests.
thankfully, time *& "wisdom"* hath disavowed him of any such notion
oh, and do make sure yer not allergic to the solution used on the wax...'experience' w/Nair depilatory cream once
course, applying it straight on the face seemed the 'manly thing' to do *ere common sense kicked in*

I always use lotion, I do'nt want wrinkles! and I need to use lipbalm or my lips split and bleed. no way around it.
Tweezing once won't get rid of it forever! Maybe once a week for 5 years, but not once silly.
I broke out from the irritation to my pores. But I figured out how to avoid that next time. I was too sensitive to the manthol in the last kit I had ("a lovely cooling sensation" = a horrid icy burning feeling I couldn't wash off)
ya know, they make special face nair... I'm allergic to mast nair type things, but I finally found a good one. YAY
