oh just peachy

So I'm trying to update my flickr account, watching comedy, when the least funny commercial EVER comes on. An aspca commercial about animals being abused and needing rescue, with Sarah Mclaghlin's (Or however you sell it) "Angel" for the music.
Now I'm crying. Great. I know I post about this over and over, but WHY THE FUCK would you hurt an animal? Why? And then there's neglect... if you don't want to take care of the animal, than you don't want the animal and should give it to someone who does. No animal should be made to suffer just so someone can say "I've got a dog/cat/rabbit/etc."

Now, I'm going back to my flickr updating. I'm going to look at pics of my rescued rodents and my Squeaky (dumped out of a car and left in the woods till we found him) and Pepper (We don't know how she came to be in the condition she was in, but it was bad when we found her.)

methinks the hardest part of feeling compassion for the plight of helpless creatures is NOT enmeshing oneself in hatred for their tormentors.

...takes a 'special' kind of A__hole to look innocence in the eye and still torture the poor creature anyway

once, a-know-it-all w/his grizzled, greased up moustache pointed out that e'en a man who works as a drain sweeper and rides a rickety bicycle to work has the presence of mind to have TEN children..and in his own house, he's treated as a king.

if it were any other situation i'd have helpfully pointed out that if the gentleman in question had a mind in the first place, he would really seek better employment before deploying his seed in such prolific fashion.

i mean, its one thing when someone is born into poverty but to willfully inflict it on a child?

selfish. pure and simple.

which is, sorta the answer to the second question..as to why some animals are made to suffer jast for someone else's so-called "pleasure".

funny thing is, they actually imagine the pet is 'priviledged' to be taken care of *aka neglected* in such fashion

..much like an abusive husband believes the pain he inflicts is all for the better

hogwash, i say.
